Photo and poetry contest celebrates Bellevue's parks

Sewage Overflow Alert

Due to a Mercer Island sewage overflow, the Enatai Beach Park swim area is closed until 3:30 p.m. on April 16. Chesterfield Beach Park, SE 40th Street Boat Launch, and Burrows Landing are also closed to swimming. Users of non-motorized watercraft should use caution and avoid the affected area.

Known as a "City in a Park," Bellevue has 2,700 acres of parks and open space. The city invites all who live, work or play here to submit a poem and/or photo inspired by Bellevue's park system.

Winning entries, selected by a panel of art experts and city representatives, will appear in the 2016 Bellevue Parks & Open Space System Plan and city exhibit spaces. The picture and poetry contest runs through Dec. 1.
