4th Bellevue traffic fatality this year On Monday, a driver struck and killed a man attempting to walk across Northeast Eighth Street in the Crossroads neighborhood.

Officer Jesse Hjelmstad is back patrolling Bellevue's streets after serving his third tour of duty with the National Guard.  As a Sergeant First Class, Officer Hjelmstad led a platoon of 20 medics in Northeastern Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe for the past year.

On Saturday, October 24, 2020, the protest ended peacefully, with no one getting hurt and no damage.

Bellevue police detectives have arrested a 30-year-old woman and two 17-year-old boys in connection with the shooting of the woman's ex-husband in July at the Overlook at Lakemont Apartments. The 48-year-old victim was shot nine times in the parking lot as he approached his car.

Using video clips supplied by residents, Bellevue police have arrested 23 people connected with looting and destruction downtown on May 31, and have recovered more than $50,000 in merchandise. Detectives have identified nearly 100 more suspects, and are continuing those investigations.

Bellevue Police have posted a number of documents and materials related to a December 2018 arrest showing use of force by a Bellevue officer. Video of the arrest has circulated on social media, prompting questions about the circumstances of the arrest.

Two people died following a domestic disturbance in the 15500 block of Northeast 22nd Place just before 11:30 pm Monday, June 1. Officers responded to a report of a stabbing where the suspect was believed to still be at the scene.
